We process personal data only where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG) allow it: with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), to take steps towards or perform a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), to meet legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)), or where we have a legitimate interest that does not override your rights (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity only run if you click “Accept” in the cookie notice. Without that, this site sets no cookies. A simple, cookieless count of page views (Vercel Web Analytics) runs for everyone and stores no personal data.

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data to Vercel's servers: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system, and the referring page. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel keeps these logs only for a limited period under its own retention rules.

Vercel is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework; transfers to the USA are also covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

To know how many people visit which pages, we use Vercel Web Analytics, a service of Vercel Inc. (address above). It counts page views, the referring website, the country, and the type of device and browser. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not recognise you across visits or websites: the request data is only used to form a short-lived, anonymous identifier that is discarded after 24 hours. Your IP address is not stored.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing how the website is used, in a form that does not identify you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Vercel is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

If you email or call us, we use your name, contact details and message to answer you and, where relevant, to prepare or carry out an engagement (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We keep this correspondence as long as needed for that purpose and as required by statutory retention periods, for example under Austrian tax and commercial law.

If you apply by email or via LinkedIn, we use your application documents only for the recruitment process (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). If we do not hire you, we delete them six months after the process ends, unless you agree that we keep them longer for future openings.

If you sign up for our quarterly newsletter, we store your email address on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The newsletter is sent with Mailchimp, a service of The Rocket Science Group LLC (Intuit Inc.), 405 N Angier Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. Mailchimp stores the address and records whether an email is opened and which links are clicked, so we can see which topics interest our readers.

Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw consent by writing to office@samira-advisors.com. Mailchimp is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

On your first visit we ask whether you accept analytics. Your answer is saved in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) so we don't ask again; this is technically necessary. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, the analytics cookies are deleted.

Only if you accept, the following two services run.

Google Analytics 4 is a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It tells us how visitors use the site: which pages are read, how people arrive (for example from a search engine or LinkedIn), which device and browser they use, their approximate region, and actions such as clicking our email address or signing up for the newsletter. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.

Cookies: _ga and _ga_<ID>, stored for up to two years. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Microsoft Clarity is a service of Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland. It records how pages are used — clicks, scrolling and mouse movements, also as session replays and heatmaps — so we can find what is confusing or broken. Text typed into forms is masked.

Cookies: _clck (up to one year) and _clsk (one day). Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Data may be transferred to Microsoft Corporation in the USA, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Some podcast pages show a YouTube video as a still preview. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you click play. Only then is the player loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, which receives your IP address and technical data and may set cookies. Legal basis: your consent, given by clicking play (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Our pages link to LinkedIn and Medium as plain links. No data is sent to these services until you click such a link and leave our site; from then on their own privacy policies apply.

You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), to restrict its processing (Art. 18), to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests or used for direct marketing (Art. 21). Consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
